Being able to send PM to user
 

Greetings,

Stumbled on the forum after a nostalgia search on google.
Wanted to contact a user by PM to chitchat, but it seems PM are disabled for new account ?

What do I need to do to be able to email or PM someone else ?

I'm not 100% sure about PM's, but most functions other than reading and posting are disabled for new users at the beginning.

For instance, I can't add an Avatar or Signature just yet. It may just be a matter of time.

You may just want to post something to alert them you want to chat and they might be able to initiate the PM's.

It might be time related, or if not an "under 10 posts" thing.

Posting in a few threads on the forums can't hurt :)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's what the others are saying. Without that, spammers sign up for accounts here and send PMs about viagra and whatnot to everyone, so it's basically proving you're a human ... by posting and not getting banned.

Dammit, i've been looking for some viagra...

So I have the forums set up to notify me (through my gmail account) when someone quotes me, along with the content of the post.

I wonder how long it's going to be now before I start seeing Viagra in google ads!

oh yeah i understand the limitation was just wondering what it was ;)
