What class to solo?
 

I have narrowed down my choices on what to solo next. Anyone soloing with the following classes have any thoughts?

Ranger
Paladin
SK
Warrior
Rogue

Iksar Warrior berserking with weighted axe and bandages/bind wound

Rogue. I give u fungus tunic if u make it to level 60 solo with 100% proof

You aren't soloing anything those past 35-40 but the SK on green.

On Green, I've got a 50 ranger, warrior and working on an SK (currently 30's)

I've done plenty of soloing on all of them even into the 40's.

My take is:

Sk > ranger > warrior

Warrior is actually pretty good at times, but can't split mobs or deal with runners very well. It also suffers at the higher end as exp giving mobs start to deal significantly more damage. Nonetheless, I did some of my 40's doing single guard spawns in Steamfont.

Ranger involves a fair amount of root n' shoot, but was pretty doable well into the 40's. I did most of 39-46 solo in HHK (pre-exp nerf).

My SK is only in his 30's but I imagine it will be the easiest. Fear kiting allows for complete mitigation of opposing melee damage and is only limited by mana, which is easy enough to solve by asking one of the many many enchanters for a C. I've been basically solo the whole way thus far.

Rogue is guaranteed to be the worst. I mained one on live and blue during the classic era and I basically couldn't solo anything above a high green without buffs. With Kunark there is some gear that can help (Fungi, better weapons, bloodpoints, etc.), but it's still a pita.

Paladin I've never gotten past the teens, but should be doable via root jousting and self heals. I'd imagine it's about as good as a ranger, as while they have better mitigation / heals, they have worse DPS and no root and shoot option. In Kunark 46+ you get deepwater clickies, which should help a great deal.

All that being said, next time I'm doing Monk.

Monk is best purely due to survivability. FD is better than any skill ever

ive heard qeynos area is a good place for ranger bow kiting. I dont know how much that means. That may be with a trueshot longbow as well as at least banded. Ranger bow kiting is not actually that good i think. However, it can work and be relatively decent.

Found out the hard way centaur is not an animal :/
