Pitted iron ring

Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain this ring with a 200 in blacksmithing? I have all but maxed jewelry making, which now limits my ability to go over 200 in smithing. Any info would help greatly. Plz pm

Yes. Being below trivial just means that there is a chance of failure higher than the global 5% chance. You can still do it, and I think at even like 184ish it's an 80-90% success rate.

Beware through, you're looking at a 19 combine chain... With 212 you're looking at 35 or so % chance of success... Trying this at only 200 will reduce your chance further... But not much, a good deal of the first combines will also be at max success rate at 200,only the last few combines will not be maxxed.. Still, you're probably looking at 4-5 attempts

The final combine has a trivial of 160. It's possible to buy an MQ of the difficult stuff and get down to (if the trivial charts on the wiki are correct) 5% fail rate at 165 ish skill.

95% at 163 for the final combine if you buy a blade mq...

i've done the quest twice now with 200 and didn't fail the final combine either time.
funnily enough, I failed one of the earlier combines once.

they're all 5% chances of failure, so it's always possible. but 200 is worth the effort, IMO

Yep, definitely doable at 200,the impact is not so high as the quest page makes it, due to the fact that a good share of the 19 or so combine are trvial at 200...
But even at 212 you're still doing at an avg success rate of 1/3 for the blade

elwing 12-17-2020 02:59 AM

0.95^19=0.377... 37% is the avg if all are trivial.

For reference, I already failed at splitting the ore and at dusting the blocks... I haven't failed at clay coating, but I have failed on prrtty much all other combines.
