I don't understand what you are referring to. My comment wasn't aimed at you if that's what you thought. P99 = people nerfing classic shit for no good reason.

I guess I just expect the RnF in threads these days and I got my responses ready to go <3

It’s fine that there is a race to get to max level fast, but the whole yellow text/ name on p99 wiki thing set up a pretense where it created a “right and wrong” way of going about it.

I think you got it backwards. I had this idea for a long time and yellow text is not the driver. If you check my sig, you'll see I kind of like to play the game outside the "box". I create my own goals and achievements.
My own yellow text is me saying "Hey me, that was cool! This time it worked out and you did something fun/unique/difficult." The bravado and fake pixel thirst is more trolling the easily trolled. I try to let on... but people stuck in their thinking or don't pay attention.
The Devs are putting an artificial box of what they think is the "appropriate" speed of leveling and the "appropriate" methods of leveling.
They are wrong. But it's their box and they have a right to be wrong :D
I turned the box upside down to show them what they never looked at on the bottom and they didn't like it. We all did it when half the server bound @ firepots.
Here is EQ if players made different choices.
And that, my friend, is what it's all about
:
player choice. I made my own choice to set my own goals, and disciplined myself to achieve it. I don't care one way or another what a random simu-elf online has to say about it wanting to add to or take away from it.
Each server (aka each paralell universe of Norrath) has different people making difference choices. Rallo Zek server took down Sleeper. That said something about their players, and the server.
What is the story being told on Green?
Lots of great, small anecdotes of people grouping, raiding, progressing together. That's EQ. But there is also a toxic element at the top.
Also, the freedom of players to tell interesting and meaningful stories in their actions is being met by overreaching deus ex machina seeking to impose its bland will, regurgitating the past. Unfortunately, this makes Norrath less special, less vibrant.
Chase away your storywriters and your storytellers won't have much left to tell. When the stories are gone, people go looking elsewhere for an engaging story.
