Fraps Editing
 

So I have some videos I recorded that I'd like to trim and possibly compress for upload. Could anyone recommend a quality application (for Windows) that I could use to do this please? Lightweight or heavy I don't care, just something that works.

Sony Vegas. The demo period lasts for 30 days, so you don't even need to pirate or buy it, if you can get everything done in that timeframe. Its well worth buying however, its the only thing from Sony that I have no qualms against paying for.

If all you're interested in doing is doing some small edits, such as cutting parts out, adding music, titles, etc, I would suggest using Windows Movie Maker, it usually comes with all Windows OS (xp, vista, 7 I'm pretty sure), and is pretty easy to pick up on. (Start button -> search -> windows movie maker )

I use sony vegas 10 and it does everything I need for simple kill videos. I don't use any special effects or trnsitions though.

EXCELLENT editing package. Saw this at the NAB show this year. And it's free.

I just record the videos on my iPhone and edit them.
