The red wave in november will be explained away by dems as "See, the country is just getting even more racist so that's why they didn't vote for us"

Whereas, if they had any integrity at all they might say "Gee maybe everything we say and do is awful and regressive, and we turn against our own party members who exhibit even a shred of moderation and everyone hates us and accuses us of being bougie out of touch elitists and we prove them right at every opportunity".

First thing on the chopping block and it's technically not a 'tax credit' because there is no work requirement. It's pure welfare and wealth redistribution. Not only that, but there was already a real child tax credit within the TCJA which shocker, actually expected work requirements and merely allowed workin families to keep more of the income they earned
