Good ole bible belt.. "when they said the kid is 'transgendering' into another sex, i couldnt have kids laugh at them. (pause....) kids are getting in trouble cause trans kids are in their class..".
She has a problem with the idea that kids are getting in trouble for bullying and making fun of trans kids. So, pro-bullying of children and trans people. Wow.

Ya either it was a poor choice of words or maybe she really meant it…but either way it was almost as if after she said it that lady realized how bad it sounded
Shaming someone for being trans isn’t really all that different from shaming them for being fat, or for liking Pokémon, or whatever. It may not have the desired effect of making them change, and if it does, it’s going to come with a lot of damage and hurt. It’s a crude method, and one that comes more natural to kids due to their juvenile nature
That’s not to say that kids should never have to experience bullying. Like anything negative in life, by experiencing it we learn more about it and can learn ways to deal with it. Because there is no way to escape it forever, and the longer we go without learning how to deal with it, the more overwhelming it can be. Obviously like any other negative external stimuli, experiencing it a little at a time is much better than being saturated in it, which can be extremely damaging. It’s like the difference between overcoming a cold versus cancer as a kid
No teacher should encourage bullying for any reason. Tell the class to leave them alone about the trans thing, they’ll find enough other things to bully them about in more subtle ways anyway, as kids do to everyone. Some will bully you for any reason they can find
