Metaphorically, yes, that can be fine and it can be horrific, but literal interpretation is a mess when it comes to old documents. See the US Constitution, and the gazillion takes on what "the founders" meant by this or that phrase... and tell me that the much older Holy Bible should be taken literally and at face value

So, yeah, gay pastors are fine, they've existed the whole time in history anyways. The modern right winger trying to draw a line between openly gay people and pedophiles is as old as the hills, and it's just them working themselves up to the mass violence they so clearly want to see
