reminder the legislative branch trial of donald trump is on at 8pm on all news stations.

yeah but the liberals who microwaved popcorn and watched these hearings with baited breath are not the people you see in that photograph. liberals generally do not have the nads to do illegal stuff. hell, the moment that they gain the nads, they've officially joined the left and their antifa membership card will delivered to them by homosexual drone

Could also be board conspiracy(2-1) or treason within the Capitol police itself.

Can we go back to talking about the Guard? 🥺

edit: also reminder that the protest you are saying does not create change you're currently saying almost ended democracy and was an insurrection.. and im not sure if you believe the police issue has been fixed after the 100 days of riots but incase you didnt know: it hasn't changed.

no, police are the same as they ever were, armed and awful, defund the police didn't happen anywhere to any significant degree

and this primetime shit is about consequences, not revolution itself. they took their shot at the "king" and they missed, the state must punish such things even if it's just for the image

idk, I've been observing a linier progression of leftist protests since 2000.

The first big goverment protest of my adult life was the anti war protests during GWB.

Just like the protests at the capital on jan 6th.. the GWB ones were slightly violent at first, but dispersed on their own in the evening. I was pissed! because I pissed (and watching eating popcorn).

Over the next 18 years to get us to the BLM protests we saw with each subsequent protest, a bit more and more anger and violence.

Each cycle of protests they escalate a bit. During the BLM riots I kept saying that the next cycle the protestors would move from the city streets to the residential, shouting things like, "if you're in your living room and not out here you are the problem! You are either with us or against us!"

And by the end of those 100 days of riots that's what we started to see.. people begging protestors to get off their lawns, with protestors just blasting them 10x when they did.

If we get another major win for the right, we're going to see some very serious protests and I think the majority of them are going to be against peoples homes.

I hope you guys win because unfortunately it's the threat of terror that I think kind of subconsciously holds this country hostage right now.

I would like to believe that what you are observing is actually more and more people becoming aware of the excesses of American capitalism and becoming increasingly disenfranchised with it or something. A burgeoning leftist movement over time. Maybe. It's not very cohesive, but I personally don't think it will become very cohesive until there's a lot of shortages and things start getting more grim

The right does not seem to have a problem with being cohesive, largely, but their ideas are deeply unpopular so they pretty much have to be in lock step

My question is why is the right unpopular? Why was it popular for so long? What do you think changed?

(btw things are going to get worse because were not going for a recession were going to a depression)

I can only tell you why I think the right's ideas are generally unpopular, it's just opinions

If you would really like to do sociopolitical theory posting, I am a leftist, I will happily post a huge wall of text that few people will read
