the real question is why isn't the entire world solar powered? well, it actually is. Every single process on earth is a result of solar energy, with the exception of technology used by humans. human tech is powered by things that used to be alive, those things that were solar powered when they were alive.

Your body is solar powered. Everything you eat, grew by, or ate something powered by the solar energy.

solar energy just shows up everyday for free. you don't have to drill for it or mine it. all you have to do is open your hands and accept it.
