If you want to play this game, Ronald Reagan got us into this mess. Pretty sure they've all given lip service to this idea since Bush 1, and nobody's substantially addressed it because you don't fuck with the money

Nope. It started before him.

And after. With China graduating from IDA in 1999, foreign investment poured in.

That being said, I don't idolize Reagan like most conservatives do. He wasn't nearly as good as we like to claim.
