Conservatives aren't motivated to change the world.

When most Leftists are attracted to academics, they network together and most of the time there isn't even a huge pool of Conservative leaning staff to grow within the ranks. So Leftists hang out with other Leftists for decades, and they start believing their world view is the correct and natural path in life and so they inject that into their work. Unknowingly in best case scenarios or worse, they actively do it on purpose.
