Yes, according to a survey by The Trevor Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention, more than 50% of transgender and non-binary youth in states across the US seriously considered suicide in the past year1. Another study found that 40% of transgender people had attempted suicide2. These rates are much higher than those of the general population.
It’s important to note that these high rates of depression, anxiety and suicide attempts are spread across liberal and conservative regions1. Is there anything else you would like to know? Probably all of them |
Suicide rates don't even decline post-transition.
It's like there's some kind of relationship between fundamentally altering your anatomy via surgery and radical irreversible hormone treatments and regret. Libs don't seem to realize the conservative backlash to transgenderism is first and foremost out of concern for the people falling victim to it. It's not compassionate to wreak havoc on somebody's perfectly healthy body just to indulge their inner experience, it's actually extremely abusive to do that, *especially* when they're too young to possibly understand what they're "consenting" to. It's unsurprising that the medical establishment, which stands to gain billions off these poor people and their deep confusion, indulges in absurd euphemisms like "gender affirming care". Who could oppose that? It sounds so nice! |
