Basically trump bringing up this idea that manufacturing is gonna come back -- its a dumb idea for older people that remember the high pay and STILL don't accept that was because of unions and New Deal norms. They think there is some kind of thing within the manufacturing that made it high pay.
That was completely incidental. If we were nothing but a farm country -- we would be talking about the good old days of high paid field hands.

none of you can talk about anything politilcal without reverting it into a trump policy discussion my god
try asking the democrats to look inward and dont be rediculous with this nonsense about how AI manufacturing will be cheaper than human manufacutring so we should get rid of human manufacutring
america was on track to being an itally or a sweeden or any other country that had pride in their country, their workers, and their products that they make
we built a country where you could have mass manufacturing AND a healthy workforce, reuglation, and it balanced out, for 50 years this ran strong
then we let people rape and pillage it and now here we are.
its a cultural thing, even if you werent hung up on a trump argument, you're thinking about the bottom dollar from a PRICE point perspective, youre not thinking about the rewards you get from a society that takes pride in the thigns they build
And if the nation tried to bring in manufacturing we could do it
Go watch the movie American Factory... the workers wanted to work, they just didnt want to compete with exploited workers in china, and because we think about the bottom line, they said, no factories then.
it's stupid, there is more to an economy than the bottom line!!!! it's a fishbowl and an ecosystem.
