You're correct, but most people are completely ignorant about how bad it is (see above) until they they themselves get sick. Then their eyes usually open in a hurry. There's never enough sick people being screwed by the corrupt and broken system at any single moment to generate enough pressure to effect permanent change in opposition to the powerful medical industry lobby.

Note that this forum's demographics mostly veer towards young and healthy. You see a lot more understanding of that problem on forums which skew older.

If republicans take control of America and continue the denial of reality (of everything science based) and inaction on climate change, what could that mean for future wars?
