One thing that happens in a mob is the bystander effect, a phenomenon which states that the more people observing something happening that they as individuals might want to intervene to prevent, the LESS likely anyone is to do something about it. It’s as if seeing others ok with the fucked up event happening normalizes it, and people also have a thought of “someone else will end up doing the right thing here so I don’t need to right now”

That shit’s never gonna happen with me. I see a serious crime going down I call the police and report it. If I see someone getting hurt I do my best shy of getting myself seriously hurt or killed to prevent it. I refuse to be a bystander

So mobs won’t work for me. As soon as the mob starts doing something fucked up like hurting an innocent person or vandalizing something, that’s where I turn on the mob. And if I try to protect someone getting beat by a mob, I’ll be the next to get seriously hurt or die. So I refuse to put myself in that situation
