Those instant deaths always seems like survival from the perspective of the guy that instantly dies. The brain disconnects and buries the trauma and ur caught up in the next quantum wave function were you miraculously walk away.

As for Mr. Seuss I always knew he was up to no good and questioned his Doctorate. At 3 years old.
