UI/Char select vanish after <1 second
 

When I get to character select I can see everything for less then a second, then it all dissapears and I can only see the world and my character. I can still push enter to login, but the same thing happens with my UI. I've seen other people post about this issue but no resolution...any have a fix?

*edit - I'm running a lenovo thinkpad with dual core processor on XP if that helps...
