Discord is killing the traditional Forum
 

After much thought and consideration about making this thread.

I have concluded that discord is hurting the number of users who participate on website forums.

This is very bad for a few reasons.

I already said this. We had a big real talk discussion about it.

one of those reasons is new players. They go looking for information. On discord information CAN be lost over time. On a traditional forum there is a focused discussion about the topic that contributes.

You can search discord but it's far more instant chat responses and less detailed personal response.

Discord is another garbage message board murderer like reddit and facebook.

Already guys talking about some shit happening on discord and leaving this forum to rot.

already this forum running older software probably going to be hacked and deleted and then we can go to the discord to find no information but "hey im new can you tell me how to download everquest" every day or so.

Looking forward to it. RIP.

Also the new versions of vbulletin that i've seen suck, so we have that to look forward to also.

I cant wait for 20 years from now to see this snap chat generation that thinks everything should be temporary, including information, turns out.
