Noob shoulders: the ultimate battle
 

Faydwer is a place of many opportunities - particularly when it comes to easily attainable shoulders!

There are many great contenders, notable mention to the Prayer Cloth of Tunare and the Braided Ivy Cords, but lets face it, casters don't really need gear.

Lets choose between the real melee options!


Coming in from the Estate of Unrest, the mighty Undead Knight and his Bloodstained Mantle! Adds little encumbrance, has fair AC, improves DPS and lets you shrug off those troublesome roots and slows! A great all rounder!

Versus


Not to be outdone, an avenging caitiff of Mistmoore brings sheer tankability of Crested Spaulders! Excellent AC and Sta for the level to attain, but not without substantially adding to your encumbrance.

There can be only one winner; which will you choose!

Most classes can't make as good use of the sta at lower levels, plus an effective weight of .5, and ten MR is super good forever. Mantle wins for anyone who's not a tank and probably for most knights under level 50.

Just wear all silk and a spiked collar for daddy.

Maybe get some rusty spiked shoulder pads, bb, I think.

I like the 10 MR

The Bloodstained Mantle is that best bang for your buck newbie shoulder item.

None of the above, I roll with Tattered Mantle. 12 AC 20HPs +10 Disease
All of them just about the same price too.

In talking about melee in general, it seems like the Bloodstained Mantle would be the most useful to the widest number of classes. The Crested Spaulders may serve tanks better due to the higher AC.

Also, lol.

BS mantle for sure, then crested if you're a plate tank later on, when the sta/hp ratio improves. that 10 MR is a tough loss, though.

Gotta wear a nice silk suit for business time!
