I think people ignore what's said because A: lack of narrative structure or B: they've previously decided they don't like the poster. Like for example, I completely ignored what you said because I didn't feel like processing jigsaw rhetoric but Byue was being mean to you so I jumped on his shit anyways.

Free speech is great. That pro-ana elf is right about those forums being good sources of support for sick people like J, who should probably post there instead.

In the ARMY my weight fluctuated between 165-175 pounds, so when I got out of the ARMY and was finally able to relax my diet I ended up getting up to 195 pounds. I felt so fat because I had never weighed this much before, but people I would meet would still describe me as being the "super skinny" guy which caught me off guard because I felt so fat.

Years later I don't have body dysmorphia anymore, and I can genuinely say that I do not like to weigh less than 205 pounds. Not all men who are 5'10" are built the same. I have a 48 inch chest, and 20 inch arms naturally. I'm built more like the heavy weight fighters you see in the UFC who are of similar height. This idea that the only factor that should determine weight is height is ridiculous.

It makes a huge difference when I'm working manual labor. When I drop below 190 pounds, the chainsaw suddenly feels heavy, and I need to ask other men to help me pull a rope. When I am over 200+ pounds I pull a rope so hard that the men who are trying to help me fall over due to sheer amount of force I'm able to generate. I know which weight I prefer to be. I have random people always comment on how buff I am too. When you're lean you could be completely ripped, but unless you're walking around shirtless people just assume you are scrawny. When you're heavy and have muscle mass - people notice it from a mile away.

I remember being in the ARMY and having a little bit of a beer tummy and having to write this black kid up for being fat. He took his shirt off so I could measure his waist and he had an 8-pack of abs. It felt so surreal that he was considered grossly overweight by BMI standards. I think women get hit the hardest by these standards too.

When I went to MEPS to enlist, there was a female who was interested in joining as well. I can honestly say she was a 10/10 and looked like a Playboy bunny. The type of hot you don't see every day for sure. She failed the weight test for being obese due to her large breasts and curves... despite having a tiny waist.

BMI is simply a bad tool for individuals. This was made really clear in my health class 10 years ago, so people know this... They just don't care. If you apply a population tool to everyone it becomes a population tool. Just have to penalize the outliers as unhealthy so your data works. Institutions can't function with critical thinking about why exceptions happen.

I remember someone telling me that I should take measurements before I started a serious diet and workout regimen to lose weight. I did it, but I also weighed myself. I didn't think much of it.. I worked out super hard for like 4 weeks.. and when I weighed myself I had gained 10 pounds. I felt so upset and angry, and started having those thoughts run through my head about how much I hate people who have fast metabolisms because I had barely been eating, and had gone running every single night... then I remembered to measure my inches.. and I realized that I had lost 6 inches on my waist, literally... after that I've never put much emphasis on weight scales.

Sniper training is a reliable way to reduce ur body mass index.

you probably have cool and normal friends irl, but i dont consider anyone here my enemy, most of u i would sit nexto on the bus or not be upset if u sat nexto me, even if u were spouting crazy propoganda about how the state is gonna liberate me and buy me a tesla and elf ears

even byue who fustrates me and upsets me a lot

i don't expect ppl to 'read and process' my garble because it is garbled and mangled, but like don't throw ur pennies in my face if u want to give me some, i'd prefer no pennies at all than getting pelted with them by angry schoolchildren just learning (freshly indoctrinated) about communism

the goal in life is elf ear jewlery like that lady has, she's a badass /pras 2 her, i bet she paid for them by selling books and not begging and getting scraps from the state

i doubt she wakes up in the morning and sees herself as a victim or at the mercy of the state and she's willing to speak up and say whatever the fuck she needs to to help her friends

licensed state approved and sanctioned and paid for therapy incoming in 30 mins so i will be busy and not spam replying, ttl (tbh these guys are great, they arent baadddd) (the goverment is tho) (and alone these guys are just as helpless to fix me as me, unless i want to fix myself) (they are even more clueless than u guys are about my circumstances)

Yep. One data point isn't going to tell you anything about what's going on with your body. Weight means a lot of things and it's meaningless not put into context with trended data and other factors considered. Something that stands out to me is that you put yourself through quite a bit of intensive cardio in a short period of time. So I learned a couple years ago that your body holds on to water to protect your muscles when you suddenly increase activity. I've read about people miraculously losing weight they couldn't get rid of after their activity level drops.

Are you weighing yourself first thing in the morning right after you pee? No? Do that. How nurses do it in the hospital. Weighing yourself at any other point isn't going to give meaningful information, not that weight alone is useful at all!

the only way to increase muscle mass is to build muscle

running sometimes increases endurance and mitochondrial efficiency but can lead to actually reduced muscle mass

think about it

imo its ok to be anorexic if ur suffering from a chronic illness that won't let u build muscle, better to be skinny and sick than 300lb and sick

If I were going to seriously consider being a sniper in 2021 I would literally try to lose about 50 pounds. I'm too old to do something like that now regardless of my fitness levels... you know how when you're young... you don't have a care in the world and will do dangerous stuff without serious fear of the consequences.... and then when you get older you're worried about walking on ice or being out in the sun too long... yeah.. I'm the latter now...

yup, this is why a lot of body builders WALK for their cardio. I like running though, it's one of my only healthy hobbies really. But it's also terrible for your joints, spine, and can hurt your gains.

IDK what your financial situation is like but when I got my first stimulus check.. I bought an electric bicycle. It's a great workout tool that is better on your joints. You think electric bicycle.. would be too easy right? Well, you still use quite a bit of cardio and muscles to power it. The difference between an electric bicycle is that you can pedal up hills that would otherwise be impossible for most riders to travel up, and instead of going on a 5-10 mile bike ride, you can go on a 25-30 mile bike ride in the same amount of time. When you get off the bicycle you still feel like you been pedaling for the last few hours because you have... you just getting a lot more UMPH out of the pedaling you are doing and are able to go a lot more places on the bicycle... you can also turn the electric feature off and just pedal and then turn it back on when you get tired... I do this to conserve battery power, especially going down hills..

it's been a lot of fun... the 3 people I have let try riding on it have all tried to buy it off me ...

starkind 05-26-2021 09:50 AM

bikes are geat, really feel good on joints and u will still be able to sprint when you need/want to easily improve ur sprints by training on a bike if u want

take it from an obsolete ex military drone who had to bike after an accident, shaved 2 mins off my runtime

well here's my alarm, post again at 1:30pm maybe
