Cool, so I guess that means taking a vaccine that was developed in 6 months is the same thing as taking a vaccine for sars, which was heavily tested and vetted for safety and efficacy? I understand those are also coronaviruses, but so what?

Apparently this virus required a brand new vaccine, we couldn't just use the sars one. So they are apparently quite different in fundamental ways, and may have unforeseen longterm side effects that are worse than just getting covid and recovering and having natural antibodies.

Except that’s not true. It was tested on the same amount of people, they just skipped the bureaucratic red tape at the backend. The technology has also been around for decades. And the FDA has now approved it. It’s no more risky than any other vaccine (which are all extremely extremely low risk of any side effects) and hundreds of times less risky than many medications (including OTC ones that you have probably taken many times in your life) - you’re more likely to get a stroke or health threatening blood clot from taking Advil than you are to have any reaction whatsoever to the vaccine
