It's generally the same even with private doctors/insurance in the USA. Doctors here work long hours, are subject to perverse incentives, and most of them will rush through your case. Unless you're lucky and find a good one.

The one time in my life when I truly needed doctors, they took out my appendix, then told me afterwards they were wrong and I didn't have appendicitis. If I wasn't insured they were going to charge 13 grand for that too. Would have been double the money if it happened today.

Oh well. I try to look out for my own health as best I can so I'm not at the mercy of a broken system.

By politicizing the virus early on, Trump is very culpable for the distrust of the experts by his base of rubes and idiots. And the initial rollout of the vaccines was poor because Orange Julius Caesar only cared about the election results at that point.

The Biden administration has overseen getting a shot every arm who wants it. There really is nothing more they can do.

I was really surprised by this honestly. Really seemed like something you would see under Trump. The data so far clearly shows that omicron can remain contagious for longer than 5 days and the CDC basically admitted that this was a decision made for the ease of businesses because they admitted that omicron can be contagious longer than 5 days.

They’re hoping that if you’re vaccinated it’s not a significant level of contagiousness such that wearing a proper mask will ensure you can’t infect others. That I do think is accurate, but still seems dumb to take the risk.
