Things happen to cops and I respect that they have to be careful when they interact with me and others.

But the tone about how they are in such mortal danger all the time has contributed to a whole lot of unnecessary force.

I used to work in a hotel. I had more guns pointed at me than the average cop in my town ever did. I also used to work as a taxi driver prior to that. Once I held someone's hand against the inside of the car roof so their gun wouldn't be pointed in my head as I frantically floored it in reverse. I was thinking I was going to wind up with a free gun but no, he pulled it out as he fell.
