Weapon for new monk
 

I just started on Green this week. I played on P99 blue back around 2014-2016 as a bard and rogue, but am freshly new on green.

Can someone advise about a good cheap monk weapon? I have not played a monk since March 1999.

I hear wu’’s quivering is a good mid range weapon, but it’s like 200pp. I have 5. Any super cheap options, or do I just use fists for now?

For a brand new monk with something like 5pp, you're gonna be using your fists for a while.

However, if you can manage to get a https://wiki.project1999.com/Velium_War_Maul do so. These drop during the Ring War in Great Divide and can't be sold to merchants, so I usually see them rotting. If I happen to get one next Ring War I'll hang on to one for you and you can have it for free. The 0.5wt can't be beat, either.

go to qeynos hills and west karanas to level through your teens killing bandits and turn in the sashes for items to sell to make starter plat, op!

Fists to start with until you can find a 5 32 Cracked Staff off a skelly or buy one from a merchant for just over a plat. A 5 28 Staff is available on FP and Qeynos merchants for 4 or 5 plat. If you started at Qeynos pop into Everfrost and ask an Ice Giant farmer for a FS weapon. I give those away all the time. That's enough to get you to the bandit killing levels in WK and really, follow that suggestion. You will quickly have enough plat to buy a Kunark era weapon in the tunnel.

7 21 Blackjack 50pp, 9 24 Ykeshan War Club 90pp or less, 7 18 Master Wu's Trance Stick 150pp or more, 8 20 Fighting Baton 50-100pp, 9 22 Smoldering Brand 75-100pp.

23 28 Wu's Quivering Staff goes for 250pp plus and everyone wants it but realize it's a 10 28 weapon until level 10 and a 14 28 weapon from 10 to 19 and finally a 23 damage weapon at level 20.

The 9 damage 22 delay Smoldering Brand is a nice weapon for a low level with a small proc that maybe goes off at level 1 I think. It has a smoking torch type of look that some may like or not.
