Mage damage shiled not holding using macro
 

I have a macro that does this:

/tar <group member>
/cast 4 (which is Barrier of Combustion)

About half the time, I get the message that the spell didn't hold. If I immediately re-cast it, it holds. Anyone know why this is happening?

Never had this happen to me, but try putting a short /pause in line with the cast (something like /pause 3). If it still happens you know it's not because of the macro stepping over itself (as can sometimes happen).

Any chance there's a bard also in the group and your intended target is at the buff cap of 15 w/ the songs? Just thinking that your re-cast is landing in between song refreshes.

It looks like adding the pause fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.
