What computer do you use?
I am barely an amateur when it comes to this. And I know most of you are experts or pretty darn close.
So, I have an archaic AMD processor machine, use Windows XP, 1 GB RAM, and integrated video card. EQ runs fair on it, I crash about once every third day, sometimes more. Do any of you run P99 on a wireless laptop? If so, I'd like to know what's the most efficient machine I can buy that will run it without crashing. I may not be asking the right questions, but I want the most bang for my buck. I don't need an $8,000 alienware gadget. Xaxian |
I don't know about most efficient, but I am running it on a 2005 3ghz machine (single processor) with 2 gigs of ram (upgraded a few years ago) and a decent video card. Game runs fine, I haven't had any problems.
You might be better off just going to Fries and getting a 50 dollar video card and upping the ram. |
I've played p99 on my older wireless laptop and it ran quite well.
You can build a $200 dollar machine and run EQ without hiccups. What exactly are you looking for? What's your budget? What are you looking to play besides EQ? monitor resolution? |
I play on this when I'm not at my desktop. It's basically a netbook-sized device with full-sized laptop guts. If you can deal with the smaller screen and get a wireless mouse it absolutely rocks. Battery is about 5-6 hours of regular use or 3 hours of EQ.

I thought you were all knowing, mr. Menorah Nazi

Haven't had a computer as shitty as yours since like 1999

Exactly what I was referring to! How do you find the 11.6" screen? Is it adequate enough for extended play? Would you recommend getting at least a 15.6"? The price is nice.
Thanks for the replies. |
JayDee, the computer I bought in '99 actually had a better graphics card and a 19" monitor! Ah, those were the days.
