My laptop murders your pc Rogean. You need to step up your game.

Oh and when is p99 slated for arrival :p

Extunarian 06-10-2011 12:30 PM

Wow Rogean, mine is almost a replica. I had to check my newegg history to see but I built it in 01/2009.

So, basically the same except no fancy antec case, only 6GB of ram and my CPU isn't overclocked. I did however throw in a solid-state hard drive a few months back to keep OS/applications on and I can't believe the performance increase.

Also using that sweet $20 windows 7 that you were offering awhile back.

thermaltake kandalf case
m3a770DE asrock am3 mobo
amd phenom II 555 unlocked to quadcore and overclocked to 4ghz
4gigs of ddr3 1333 gskill eco ram, cas 7
500gig WD black
AMD xfx 6850
xigmatek 600W 80+ bronze PSU
xigmatek gaia with intake/exhaust hsf
asus 19"

dual boot ubuntu 10.10/win 7

Very close to Rogean's in age and specs:

Core 2 Quad Q8400 Yorkfield 2.66GHz
CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2
Western Digital 640GB 7200RPM hard drive
Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3
GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L
COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS-550-PCAR-E3 550W ATX12V V2.3
Antec 300
Win7 "32-bit"

Nothing OC'd or really juiced, but can still run WoW at 60 fps with midrange settings. Only complaint is that I didn't set up Windows for 64-bit so the wife constantly has RAM issues when running Photoshop.

Back in the day when I built for fun...

Dual 2Ghz Xeons on a Tyan Thunder board
4GB RAM
nVidia Quadro
Adaptec SCSI
Seagate Ultra3 SCSI
SoundBlaster Platinum on optical
Thermaltake case

Currently...

Dell Inspiron 530
Core2 Quad @ 2.5Ghz
6GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
Realtek audio
Seagate SATA

Usually I buy one, build one, buy one, build one.

Oh, and currently Vista64 and hating it.

Intel i5 2400s Sandy 2.5ghz quad
Evga p67-sli motherboard
Evga gtx 570 gpu
Gskill ripjaws ddr3 1600 16gb
Seasonic x650 psu
x2 WD Velociraptor 450gb raid0
Lian-Li PC-K7B case

Recently upgraded for BF3 launch. She compiles like a striped ass ape too :)

Dravingar 06-10-2011 04:55 PM

Intel E8400 3ghz dual core
Nvidia 8600 GT video card
One TB Western Digital HD
2 Gigs of DDR3 ram

Built it like 4-5 years ago and haven't had to replace crap, so I'm happy.
