You need a law to protect your feelings about HISTORY? Not your personal life, not your job, not your sex life, history? History that your family may or may not have even participated in. I heard someone say the other day, in reference to and MLK speech, they interpreted it to mean "you guys need to stop seeing racism in everything. MLK says so right here. Speaking of work, today was a bit of a shit show

Super wealthy family in a 1.5+ million dollar home. Defiant teenager and a worse mom. The mom is just ragging on us and behavioral health, “counseling is bullshit you know. I had 20,000 hours of counseling and it did nothing. Then I found out the left hemisphere of my brain doesn’t work”

And I’m sitting here thinking ok I highly doubt you had that much counseling, that’s a shitload of counseling. And that’s weird because you can move both arms and eyes so the left side of your brain does work. Course couldn’t say any of that

Then the mom confirms that she stranded her 16yr old kid in the city because the kid pissed her off and ignored the kid’s calls. I’m like yay that’s a fuckin mandatory CPS report for stranding your kid on purpose, I love more paperwork!

Then the mom is like “she threw food at me today she needs to get the fuck out of the house”. So I’m trying to problem solve where the kid can go for a break and the only option is bio dad who lives separate, but kid doesn’t want to go

Police was already on scene and the officer goes commando on the kid “PACK YOUR BAG, you’re going with your dad!” And the kid is like “no I’m not! Is this even legal?”

And I’m sitting here again to myself saying nope, officers have no say in custody, they leave that up to the courts, and an officer can’t grab a kid and drag them to mom’s or dad’s house. They could do it if the kid was out past curfew somewhere or if the parent reported them as runaway. Then the cop could grab them and drag them home. But not from one legal parent’s home to another. Nah. Better shut that body cam off before you go hands on with a 16yr old girl to drag her to dad’s…

But whatever, the kid and mom staying in the same vicinity together that evening was a recipe for disaster and police getting called back so I told the kid officers do insist on a temporary separation to help everyone cool off and prevent them being called back

Then the parents thanked me and I noped the fuck outta there while the cop and the kid were having a verbal standoff “PACK YOUR BAG!” “I’m not going!” Good luck with that
