Look at that thing. So sleek, so beautiful, so deadly.

I hope they sink the entire Black Sea fleet, it seems that would be all that might stop this war. Poor plucky little Ukraine, I don’t think Putin is sane enough to backdown.

Cool technology by the way. I knew they had a disproportionate amount of Soviet weapons manufacturing

Nice NATO weapon used to sink that RUSSIAN ship you have there.

the world in 2021: Russia has the 2nd most powerful military on Earth.

it doesnt matter, there wont be a nato in 10 years anyway weather we decide to keep it or not.

Not to mention what trump said: It doesnt make sense, were spending all this money to protect you from russia, and then you go and become energy dependant to russia, it doesnt make sense and we should call the whole thing off.

EU is an organisation based around freedom of trade and movement between it’s members (as well as protecting citizen rights). From what I understand, NATO is orientated primarily on military treaties.

They seem to have different roles. Please explain the overlap and how redundancy would be a bad thing? Surely if what you say is true, that they are comparable in role, redundancy gives resilience against either failing?

EU is the executive branch and NATO is their nuclear armament, to put it bluntly.

You’re confusing me further - you seem to have described them as different things?

How is this redundancy then? As a European this diffusion of power is a good thing.

It keeps dodgy US standards out of Europe but still provides access to their military. It also stops the militarisation of the EU which is something many Europeans are against (and was a factor in Brexit).

Imagine an alien species that refused to create weapons while you're conquering their planet.

That's Europe.

Thats not really true at all?

Europe has a huge amount of weapon tech. It’s just devolved from EU and instead unified under NATO and UN so it can work well with the US and other countries.

Where are you from to have this perspective?
