Of course it's not about Crimea now. This situation wasn't even conceived of in 2013 by anyone but maybe Putin, if he planned that far ahead.

The key to this is "unknowingly". They won't even know they're doing it.

Lets suppose that KGB dwarf used nukes and now, everyone close to Russia wanna get its nukes. Could KGB Dwarf do anything to prevent nuclear proliferation in its neighbors?

Who is KGB Dwarf? Putin?

I don't think they could prevent anything after using nukes, no.

They could threaten to use them again, I suppose.

Yep. KGB Dwarf = Pooteen

But after using an nuke mainly against an country which gave up its nukes in exchange of security grantees which RU blatantly violated, I think that we will gonna see a huge nuclear proliferation among countries close to Russia and my guess is that if this 300k poorly trained conscripts fails to do anything, he will gonna use nukes. RU is already down to T62.

If Russia uses a nuke, I think all bets will be off - no amount of treaties or laws will prevent Russia's neighbors from getting nukes themselves.

I certainly wouldn't blame them.

I’ve always wondering about Putin cozying up to Kadyrov. The gamble of pacifying the Islamic parts of “Russia” through authoritarian Islamists who boost the local birthrate seems transparently bad for Russia. Having 30% of your next generation not be Russian isn’t smart, but what do I know. Now let’s give them disproportionate military training…

I doubt even China would be OK with them using nukes. China needs Korean, German, and Japanese supply chains. And obviously American consumers

Russia is bad for business. They’ll probably still have Iran and Syria as friends though, assuming Iran doesn’t collapse. IRGC’s intelligence head was killed in an attack in the balochistan region. I’m not optimistic, but these protests there could be the real deal
