Revisiting the Day / Night cycle for spells

Hi. I opened a thread a year or two ago about levant not being usable at 4 a.m despite the fact that the day / night cycle should be between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m for daytime (as it was changed for the skybox.)

Telin, in that thread, asked me to find evidence of the day / night cycle for spells. I found two sources, though I think this first one might not be reachable anymore:

https://fernworks.net/~dyeomans/Down...l.asp%3FId=510

https://web.archive.org/web/20010418...ell.asp?Id=503

If anyone can figure out how to use the waybackmachine to find that first source, that'd be awesome. But the second source points to Levant being usable at night between 8 p.m and 5 a.m game time.

Someone else said, in my previous thread, that quivering veil should be usable at any time, but I don't have a source for that yet.

@Telin -- if you are still around -- I'd appreciate feedback. I know this is only one source, but this stuff is pretty obscure and hard to find.

I think this is the wayback link you asked for:

https://web.archive.org/web/20050503...ell.asp?Id=510

There's a comment on page 2 that as of 10/27/01 it worked during the day:

https://web.archive.org/web/20041111...?Id=510&Page=2

Good luck!

Thanks! I'm hoping that others will have input about other spells that utilize the day / night cycle. It looks like, at the very least, there's evidence pointing to Quivering Veil being usable at all hours (which would drastically increase its usefulness) and Levant should have a different threshold for day / night.

The question is whether the different times are unique to Levant or if all spells that utilize the day / night cycle are similar -- in which case the period of "daytime," for the sake of spells should be changed to 6 a.m to 7 p.m from the current 4 a.m to 7 p.m.

At the moment, the current cut-off for Levant is 3 a.m. Once "4 a.m." is reached, Levant is no longer useable. That's 2 in-game hours every in-game day where Levant is not useable, but should be.

So, in other words, Necromancers are cheated out of Levant usage by 6 minutes every 72 minutes.

Bumping for visibility, i am not able to find more info that the one you put so far, they should review Quivering Veil of Xarn at least.

extra bump. looks like quivering veil was, indeed, fixed, but day/night cycle for levant should still be fixed
