Depends. If you're soloing, I'd recommend Druid, since you can solo well at any level, especially once you hit 14 and get your Stinging Swarm spell. Harmony and such make breaking camps in outdoor zones a breeze compared to other classes. If you can tough out the first 18-24 or so levels though, Bard or Shaman both get better (Level 18 for Bard when you can Swarm Kite, and Level 24 for Shaman when you get better DoTs and Cannibalize) roll one of them, as they are both excellent soloing classes.

If you group a lot, a Cleric is always in need, as are Enchanters because of their ability to crowd control and break camps. Alternatively, Paladins, Shadow Knights, and Warriors are in high demand in the lower levels since there's a shortage of tanks at the low levels (apparently).

Rogue if you like to group.
Bard if you like to have super intense solo sessions.
Shaman if you want to be good at everything.
Monk if you want to be a poser.
Warrior if you want to get groups that complain about your aggro.
SK if you want groups to love your aggro and watch as they laugh and pass you in levels.
Paladin if you want to be unique.
Enchanter if you want to have fun and be loved.
Wizard if you are a glutton for punishment
Druid if you want all the low levels to love you, yet be spurned by your peers.
Ranger if you are a masochist.

Gimp pet class still the best choice....

Ranger, only option ever. Don't listen to everyone, once you become good at fletching and get a good bow, you can wreck shop.

And Necromancer if you hate everything and everyone, and are content to do everything alone.

Human Ranger - Be the lord of the rings

There needs to be a separate forum entirely for this question. Seems to pop up every week.

I heard on the dirt paths of the Karanas that Rangers are looking to make a move on the server. Yes, I speak to the dirt paths.
