SHM epic step question
 

After completing City of Mist report step I grab another combine book from wolf and repeat the turn in but am not getting a true spirit faction increase message when handing it in. Anyone know if my faction is actually increasing or this is a waste of time?

Do you have enough True Spirit faction to be at this step of the quest? You need the correct amount of faction for each quest, or the turn in won't work properly. I could be wrong, but I think this quest is weird because you can get the book at a lower faction.

According to the guide you need to be Amiable or higher to do this quest.

And also remember that there are two spirit dogs. You give this book to the dog in the house, not the one under the lake

Ally is the highest faction level you can get. You must have skipped around or had true spirit faction gains elsewhere. I was thinking maybe you are max faction already, but you should get a "faction can't possibly get better" message.

Np. Be aware that Ally still has 1000 faction points within it. To be safe when you do the final turnin you want to be at max faction. Make sure you can get a "cannot possibly get better" message on a true spirit quest.

While you can have less than max ally technically speaking, there is no way to know how far in to ally you are if you aren't maxed, so it is possible the last turnin will fail.
