soulfire quest issue
 

has anyone had an issue with the turn in to Bank Clerk Jaylin in highpass keep of the H.K. 102 key from the prisoner? I turned it in to the clerk and did not receive anything in return for my paladin (she was supposed to give me "A Sealed Note").

also, anyone know if this quest is MQ-able? Does it matter which items are handed in to Brother Hayle, or if the other person handing in some items needs to also have the right faction with Hayle even if she/he is not aiming to receive the sword with the final item to turn in?

Have no done the quest in a month or two, but I never had an issue with the turn in to Bank Clerrk. I’ll see if I can get a sealed note and report back but based on the number of Soulfires I see I don’t think it’s broke.

As for MQing it, yes it is MQable but both parties need correct faction with Brother Hayle at the end.

Did the turn in today (yes, correctly 1st the sealed note alone,got the opened one in return), then the 4 items needed. Knights of Truth and Priests of Marr Ally ! He ate all items. Got the message "You have not proven yourself" 4 times. And no, i did not get the items back. Petitioned. Still waiting for a reply.

Check that all your items are exactly what you were supposed to turn in. I had the same experience a couple months ago, finally realized I had given Hayle the "token of truth", which was supposed to be handed to another mob to get the "testimony". I went back to Hayle a couple hours later, turned in just the testimony and got the Soulfire

Often people have messed up faction with the HK banker. Since the end result is droppable I always use a class that is faction friendly or can charm for the hand-in. TBH, just being able to gate back to WC twice makes for a quicker process than hoofing a paladin.

To MQ you should have ally faction with Hayle as should the person receiving. You don’t need them to factioned with Knights of Truth and can skip that if MQ’ing.

Outside forgetting to open the note first or destroying my old SF the other 30+ times for me have been successful. I haven’t done it in like 6 months though so can’t confirm if it was changed/broken. Does Hayle chat with you? Often you can test a quest with the prerequisite dialogue before handing in the items…no chatty, no clicky.

I really think this is a faction or item problem.
I have a guildie who’s still fanatically questing them and haven’t heard about any issues.

This message is telling you that you didn't have the necessary faction to complete this step, Ally faction has a huge range from bottom to top and often there is a minimum faction needed which could be above the bottom of Ally. Improving your faction will fix the issue.

Great advice, we've all screwed up a turn in before. I had the same takeaway, always trigger chat prompts with a mob before turning in, its the best way I've found to confirm if you are able to complete the turn in or not.
