Teal server was a temporary server that was a split of green to manage the population, but they were remerged when things cooled down enough. That's all. I remember when teal first launched, every dervish camp in north/south ro and orc camps in oasis had lines waiting behind them to do them :P

Teal is the server that everyone pretends was somehow better\different than green even though they were exactly the same thing and then they got merged back together and the teal people still cry about it for some baffling reason.

I know it was supposed to be a joke, but when you divide a server into two, it has two completely different sets of guilds and communities for the moment in which they are divided.

Yes but in green\teal's case they were essentially exactly the same thing. They barely existed independently at all. When they re-merged, only teal people were complaining about it, and to this day they imagine teal was some kind of magic land devoid of "toxicity", which means precisely nothing. The two servers merged and the resulting server was called "green". Had the resulting server been called "teal" instead, the green people I'm sure would be bemoaning it and longing for the days of green and how magically awesome it was.

It's all just everquest.
