Monk Gear
 

Seeing there are no newer posts for suggested gear, I would like to start one. This is my first Monk ever and this is what I have so far. I just want to get rid of as much of the Wu's as possible. I still have about 10k so spend so I would love more suggestions.
This is just a couple days hanging out in EC, if I knew what to shop for the list might be better.

Ears - Diamondine Earrings x2
Fingers - Platinum Fire Wedding Ring x2
Neck - Wu's
Head - Executioners Head
Face - Sarnak-Hide Mask
Chest -Syythrak Hide Vest
Arms - Wu's
Back - Hooded Black Cloak(its kinda heavy at 2.5, should I go Cloak of Shadows?)
Waist - Thick Banded Belt
Shoulders - Drolvarg Mantle
Wrists - Serpentine Bracers x2(maybe go granite bracers x2?)
Legs - Wu's
Hands - Wu's
Feet - Wolf Fur Slippers
Primary - Jade Mace
Secondary - Knuckle Dusters
Range - Totem of the Warrior Spirit

Focus on AC. Wolf Fur slippers are a poor choice for feet - go for Wu's. The only really useful pieces of wu's really are the shoulders, slippers, and pants.

Replace the Wu's hands with gem-inlaid gauntlets.

Replace Shoulders with Wu's or Tattered mantle if you're underweight.

HBC is good at lower levels since +hp gear is more useful - switch to Shadows later.

Go azure sleeves for arms.

Go Froglok Crown for Head.

Go Glowing Bone Collar for Neck.

truth, i'm 99% sure KD primary is better until you get damage bonus

9/18 vs 14/28.... same ratio so that doesn't matter until bonus' go in.

However, 14/28 will not be able to hit for more than 20 because of the damage cap 1-10, making the jade mace the better main-hand until then since it swings more often for its max damage while the KD isn't capable of hitting for its max damage until the cap gets raised at level 10.

At that point there is no difference between the two until 28+ when damage bonus starts coming into play.

So my Monk is all geared up, but now I need to decide on either two Knuckle Dusters or a Knuckle Duster and a Jade Mace. The ratios are the same but would you recommend the JM for speed or the KD for higher dmg. I could get more swings in with the JD even if I miss it wouldn't be as bad right?

Go for the JM primary, you won't be a lowbie forever, and the GM really starts to shine when you start getting haste in groups, and get to apply that sweet damage bonus on those high ac kunark mobs.
