Warrior aggro and procs
 

I haven’t played at all in the last 11 months. Even casually. I quit raiding or even playing casually with any frequency within a week of the Covid19 pandemic hitting the US in early 2020. I’m medical. Life (and death) got real … really fast. I’ve logged on maybe 12-15x total (days not log ins per character) since Jan/Feb 2020.

I hear that aggro changed significantly in Dec 2022.

I’m considering a comeback of sorts. My main’s magelo is below - it is representative of what I would be tanking with.

Velious was conquered with Kunark gear so I know I am “good enough”

I had a lot of banked dkp in AG but they no longer exist.

My questions are specifically targeted at the big boy/girl warriors (ie looking at you Allishia and those similar).

Is my Frostreaver still going to perform acceptably? As an entry setup at a minimum until I build up my attendance and can work again towards the green scales I (maybe) previously had the dkp for? I understand ripostes now generate threat so that helps. The proc should still be acceptable and the ratio with triple attack at 60 should generate plenty of white dmg threat.

What weapons used to be good and are now garbage?
What weapons remain “good”

I had a firm grasp on this all until this patch hit that I was absent for.

Thanks in advance. My gear is at the point that my only realistic upgrades moving forward are raid drops.

PS: do Instaclick threat items still exist for raids? Are they still any good?

• the premier instant click hate item is Scepter of the Forlorn. 10 charges of Something Darkness. Lore item, prohibitive recharge cost. Gotta just buy more.
• Totem of Rolfron Zek are cheap to buy and recharge, not Lore, and have 5 charges of Holy Might. I carry 5-6 and use them all the time. I feel like a paladin.

Disease and poison counters are borked but I think they are trying to fix them. Maybe pick up a Sarnak Warhammer for a general utility and stop gap offhand to the Frostbringer?

My napkin math puts the combined ratio of that DW setup about 20% less swing hate than the Frostreaver. Triple attack and some landed DD’s the 2h would likely readily outrun them. But that’s just theorycraft from a non warrior.

Totems are definitely handy and cheap to recharge. More for the peel off a monk than clicking during combat. Each cast is quick and like an aggro weapon proc.

2x Hammered Golden Loops will net you some more HP.

Technically Tunare was not killed in Kunark gear.
