It's not about enjoying the grind for levels or any of that shit, having the shitty slow exp rate that you had on live creates a community and your investment in your character is on a different scale than fast pvp. Another benefit is level based pvp, I pvped in the 20-30 range for over a year on my rogue and enjoyed it a lot. If you spend a week at 40 doing level 40 pvp it's an experience and a fun one at that (well depends on which end you're on) basically it creates a much different dynamic than grind to 50 in a day. Sure it sucks at first but iirc p1999 didn't start with 700 people playing. You also get a lot more time to think about how you develop your character as you level, right now I'm sitting at level 27 on the pvp server and I don't give a fuck about rawhide or any other drops bc I'm going to be level 50 in a couple days.
