Netted kelp armor for mage?
 

Been bored with my SK and have a mage I might level. Is the full set of Netted Kelp armor decent to start him out with?

Cheap, decent stats. Whole set adds the following.

+67AC +49STR -55CHA +56INT +67STA +3WIS +86SVF.

Is the -cha irrelevant?

It should affect how you roleplay and how other players react to you.

I think you'd be contesting your charisma vs their wisdom … still in with a chance!

I like the look of that armor set, good stats for a new Mage too. Just take it off when vendoring

Yes it’s a nice set. My wiz is usually down about 150 mana with it but the look…

Great for a Mage farming giants/guards/Droga. Having 150+ STR is a game changer and allows you to hold a camp much longer between vendor trips.

I use netted kelp on my necromancer. The cool appearance feels kind of lost since I’m in skeleton form most of the time, but the main thing I do notice is that with netted kelp I have so much strength that I can completely fill my inventory with fine steel and still be fine. Meanwhile my enchanter loots two items and I’m encumbered, lol.

For plat grinding I think netted kelp has some real utility.

Appreciate the advice guys! I might do a wizard instead though haha. I have both a necro and Druid and besides charming in permafrost on the Druid, the quadding was fun for me.

I think mage is a great class for the set just because your gear is most irrelevant to begin with, you'll look cooler than most wearing it and like someone else said, you don't have skeleton illusion to ruin it.
