Question about chance of Riposte/Dodge/Parry

Is there any way to increase chance of Riposte/Dodge/Parry?
Wearing dex? agi? ac item? or its 100% skill base?

As far as I know it is only skill based.

AFAIK this is true in the modern era.

Alternate abilities in luclin seemed to have an impact on this. Perhaps avoidance from AA and then later gear was a separate thing.

But for p99 it should be just based on your current skill and then ultimately the skill cap of your class on level-appropriate content.

On Quarm dodge and parry get checked before riposte so if you want to riposte more then don’t train dodge/ parry. Idk if it works that way here but I’m working on something ;)

Please let me know if this works. I'll take any other secret tips as well.

Not training dodge/parry is a dumb strat btw cos obviously you'll end up taking a bunch more hits, which I supose isn't desirable. It is just fun to think you may get like a tiny % more ripostes (which are far cooler!) by skipping training the skill. "For the lolz".

But... Data!

Imagine if you still avoid the same number of blows but return that much more damage.

I do have log data from my SK. For these logs he wasn't level 60. He would have been between 55 and 58 probably, so the level 60 chances would be a bit higher.

91883 misses
74550 hits
6414 dodges
7268 ripostes
9735 parries

189850 melee attempts, including kick/bash made against bazgek

6414 dodges / 189850 attempts = 3.3% (155 Max dodge at 60)

7268 ripostes / 189850 attempts = 4% (200 max Riposte at 60)

9735 parries / 189850 attempts = 5.1% (205 max Parry at 60)

You could do tank testing between a bard and a knight. Both plate classes and possible to increase AC to a similar level. Warriors are believed to have a natural bonus to mitigation so that would skew things (then again the knight might as well).

I’ve always believed it’s better to gear for overall purpose than a single one (ie collective tanking stats vs “dex/agil build”). With a general upgrade path amongst all the 2 expansions, the difference between two player characters comes down to availability of those items.
