Command & Conquer: Renegade

Do any of ye play at all?

Sure, I’m still at it meself, jumpin’ on the W3D Hub Launcher for the odd 20-on-20 match now and again.

Back in the day, I’d be playin’ EverQuest and then this game after—it was like heaven, so it was!

Ah, to me, it’s got the finest setup you’ll find in a real-time shooter, so it does. The way you can build all sorts of troops, balance costs, incomes, and vehicles—it’s just pure class. Sure, both sides have their own vehicles and, to a degree, their own troopers too, adding a grand bit of variety to it all.

Droppin’ a Nuke or an Ion Beacon? Jaysus, it’s a right thrill. And the animations when the poor divils meet their end? Well thought-out, to say the least. I’ve a fierce grá for the in-game soundboard, it’s absolutely top-notch.

Now, snipin’ in the game, that’s downright divine. And I’ll tell you what—lookin’ up at the sun in-game and catchin’ a lens flare *perfection.* It’s the little touches like that that make you smile. The game was decades ahead of its time, to be sure, makin’ all the other real-time shooters feel like child’s play.

And let me tell ya, there’s no describin!!!!
