EVERY GOD DAMN TIME I enter a group, people can't stfu about "make sure to root your mez" or "you should tash before you charm" or "C PLZ OMFG RIGHT THE FUCK NOW IT LITERALLY JUST STARTED FADING" bitch plz... I'm spinning 12 mofuking plates... Hey Pally-tank, why ain't you yaulping? Hey DPS, why you got aggro? Hey druid, are you even f-ng there? Stay in your lane :D |
Yeah, just like real life, you're going to encounter a lot of control freaks, know it alls, and pure autists in game. Just deal with them the same way you do in real life: ignore it. Just let it roll of your back and avoid escalation. If they realize they're pestering you, they may increase their criticism to make you angrier. And even if you successfully knock them down with banter, they're never going to acknowledge it. It's best just to let it roll off your back and move on.

Playing EQ in 99 was about grouping, fun and trying your best... playing P99 feels like I'm playing WoW again |
I can be guilty of the same - usually never with Enchanters though.
Mostly with shaman, because I've played 3 shaman now. But grouped with a shaman that keeps casting Greater Healing on me, the warrior tank with 3k HP, when I'm at 70% HP - but never slowing a single mob. And then that shaman saying "Can you hold pulls, im oom" Yeah, i might nudge them and say "If you slowed the mobs and healed me less, maybe you'd have more mana, wanna give that a shot?" |
sounds like youre being nice... this isn't aimed at you

c plz

Yeah, it's unfortunate. And I honestly don't read most group chat until it becomes worth reading and interacting.

I started my first character on Green back in.... November? I didn't want to SSF, so I got a lot of help from old friends from Blue and Red to gear my Ranger. Efficiently soloing ended around level 40, so I've been doing anything from duo's to full-groups since then (57 now).
Solo and Group Enchanters are two different skill-sets. That being said, the number of shitty Enchanters I've seen who can't lock down a multi-pull in an outside zone shocks me still. I don't remember seeing so many mechanically-poor players on Blue or Red. Also knowledge-poor -- half the ones I've grouped with are using super expensive spells (high level mezzes, fascination etc..) for locking down mobs that die in 30 seconds. Then they're always OOM... I'm convinced 40% of the player-base still uses the default arrow keys to move instead of WASD. 80% of you keyboard-turn and run backwards, directly into mobs and at half-speed, making things worse than if they just used a spell. I'm positive around 80% of the playerbase uses their mouse for nearly every action, not hot keys. For those that do hot key, it seems a decent amount just do it to locate the button in a more convenient place to be mouse-clicked. Default Everquest plays like complicated flight sim, if you let it. Play it like any other game, including learning the smaller mechanics and it becomes a lot easier. |

Almost every spell in the game that can be used to reduce/eliminate incoming damage , either by way of faster kills or ranging, will be factors more potent than healing. |
