Monk Weapon Question (Duo w/ Shaman)

Hi All,

My wife and I are duoing a Monk (her) and Shammy (me) and I'm trying to figure out the best weapons for her. We are both lvl 21 and she is tanking, mainly because I can't pull agro... She has 2 Master Wu's Trance Sticks, a Cane of the Tranquil, a Wu's Quivering Staff, and a Peacebringer.

Since she's tanking for a Shammy, what weapon(s) should she be using?

If I had to guess, while damage capped the PB will deliver higher average hits to the cap. Using the Wu’s for a bit less delay leaves a lower average hit if under the cap. At level 30 it’s going to easily beat the other weapons.

Wu's staff until level 30, then swap to Peacebringer, keep 1hb maxed tho

this

every time she levels just equip the 1 handers til capped, then swap back to pb

PB will be fine to 60, save everything for torpor and itll unlock a ton of camps you can duo

Came here to third this. Wu's Quivering is great, fast 2hB. On ding take out a trance stick and use H2H / 1HB until maxed, then swap back to Wu's Quivering when both are maxed.

Between 30-40: switch to Peacebringer, coast til 60.

Definitely get an Imbued Fighters Staff. The big hits are fun but more importantly it only weighs 4 lbs which is a godsend for a monk.

not as important with shaman static duo to carry, but yes i agree IFS > PB

Peacebringer Is good practice though, for dealing with t staff weight. As noted the ac hit is a lot less impactful vs slowed mobs

this duo shouldnt be worried about T staff at all - marginal difference between IFS/PB compared to what else they could spend plat on

@OP - what haste item does your wife have on the monk right now?

I'd prio the rest of the way like this:

- Best worn haste possible for monk (likely spiked seahorse belt best bang for your buck, if you have to start with something cheaper thats fine)
- Cheap HP items for monk (shes gonna have to soak some caster damage later on, also scales nicely with mend)
- Cheap wis/hp items for shaman
- Torpor, rest of the shaman spells

Everything else is secondary. Try to stay at good cash camps (do explore, though...just make sure its on mobs that at least drop good vendor trash). I'd definitely camp Raster @ xp level for the monk epic.

The mitigation offset by the stun will far outweigh and AC bit for the 5 stones. I did a test of a mage vs earth pet only on “tankiness” and the earth was rather pathetic in comparison.

It’s RNG mitigation but even if it saves a single combat round that’s significant.
