Wiki: Out of Order
Several others have mentioned this on the reddit, but the wiki has been spitting out this error whenever trying to make certain edits or upload new files.

And the current screenshot for Maidens Voyage doesn't do it justice...

yeah it looks like 18:25, 15 August 2025 was the last sucessful image upload
i still think it's a ddos via scrapping for ai situation so they locked stuff down to throttle bandwidth or w.e, someone complained about being unable to upload a avatar on the forums on the 19th and it wouldn't let me change mine either. |

Based on the error message ("If you provide content to customers through CloudFront..."), it looks like Rogean uses AWS CloudFront as a sort of caching service for the wiki, which is a common practice.
Normally, you put a web server (like our wiki's) behind CloudFront, and then when a visitor goes to a page, CloudFront gets it from the wiki and saves a copy. The next time anyone wants that page, CloudFront gives them the copy, saving the wiki's server from being bothered. But, in this case, it seems that copy is being used more like the Wayback Machine, in that it's being used to serve a static version of the wiki while the actual server is down. This explains why anything dynamic (not just saving changes, but even previewing them) doesn't work. Hopefully, Rogean gets the real wiki server back up soon, but it's nice that we at least have this static version in the meantime. |
