Random Question - If you don't currently play on Green, what would it take?

My friend and I have been having some random discussion about why some blue players have not gone to green. I get it, sunk cost, just don't want to, don't want to start over, etc.

I say one of the biggest hurdles is just having to start over with nothing and being behind the curve. Personally, I hate the first 20 levels of grinding.

We are offering to give you a hand with maybe some banded, a little plat, maybe hp rings, a small PL, and some spell money to make starting on green less painful. Or some combo of those things depending on time, what we have on our mules, etc. We will have spells that are a pain to get like breeze handy. We have access to some research spells. We are here to help any new players to the server and even veterans who would like to give Green a shot but don't have any contacts with getting started. Also, EC is pretty active and you can generally get helpful buffs including an occasional POTG.

This is what we are thinking but we could have the memory of a gold fish. We are currently making banded as I type this.

Thanks!

I like fresh starts, and at the moment blue feels the better server for it.

To go back to green? I have a warrior bound outside temple of veeshan. Makes it hard to do much spur of the moment casual stuff - perhaps a return home or origin button would encourage me to use that character more again.

This question was probably more relevant a few years back when Green was in Velious but only a couple years old.

The answer to your question now is simple: The servers essentially offer the same experience. They are both mudflated and top heavy.

Sure, Green has a somewhat more crowded lower leveling scene in the usual popular grouping zones, but why would someone on Blue care about that? They're going to come to Green and grind an alt all the way to 60 to raid? Why? They can already raid on Blue.

If you weren't brand new to P99, the driver for Green was getting to have that fresh start as though it was day 1 in 1999 again. I played on Green and had fun; raided slightly. But after that I went back to my mains on Blue. I'll occasionally jump on Green and EXP on an alt for a brief session if I feel like some casual EQ grinding, but other than that the servers basically offer the same experience so why switch.

The main reason to play on green is KC is too busy / empty on blue at that moment. The main reason to play on blue is KC is too busy / empty on green at that moment.

RE the servers being the same, I remember once getting a bat phone, logging in to the wrong server, but my character on that server's guild happened to be fighting the same mob on that server so I didn't need to relog to have the same engagement, and that is when I realised that the servers were at that point basically the same.

I might try Green if I ever decided to level a character without twinking them. I don't have the time to do that atm, or the motivation. I've thought about doing an SSF Ranger since they can solo farm quite a few decent items.

I've been debating it lately due to the low blue pop. They don't have pet windows though right? That's a huge QOL of feature they kept on blue.

figured they'd be exactly the same by now

imagine not having pet windows and DoT dmg

how rogbog ever thought that would be a good idea is beyond me

Can confirm Green has pet windows, AFAIK the servers are exactly the same from a back end perspective. Only different is active population, age of server, value of items, and raid guild composition. All player related not server related differences.
