Is it under the program files directory? If so I believe you can copy the file out, edit it, and then copy it over the current one in the directory.

why the fuck cant i just edit the file, this is retarded

you can, you just have to modify permission settings. are you a local admin? is UAC turned on?

turn UAC off, or run-as administrator when you open the file.

you can edit UAC settings by start->in the search field type UAC -> click change user account control settings - I know what I'm doing so I slide that shit all the way down like a rebel

you have to right click on the file and edit the security permissions

Since Microsoft is anoying, you arent rly the "owner" when you dont use "Administrator" as your login account, to your PC. If you have setup a own name and have "Admin" access, its not the same thing, you cant disable them all but mostly you can change the permison like this.

Right click file or folder, select properties-> security->advanced->owner->edit, select YOUR username, tick the box to apply settings to all sub-folders.

And one last thing

Never ever, install anything in Program Files, just alot of anoying this to edit stuff in there and Microsoft have some anoying "security" shit in that folder

this is why you don't install games under program files :P
