Downloading tonight and re-joining the fun!

Hey guys, really glad to see this happen. I heard something about it a while back but never new it was a emulator that was being made. That sad great work, I appreciate the hard work it took to make this happen. Any way, I'm logging in tonight after I download all the bit torrent goodies. I'll be starting fresh after about 7 yrs of not playing EQ :P

Curious as to what players are needing now a days for groups? I used to have a Rogue, Enchanter, and Wizard. So I can roll any of them pretty easily. Any suggestion on classes really needed here?

Glad to see new players and im going to give the cliche answer "play whatever you want". I know its cliche, but its truly what I believe. If you don't enjoy your class you're gonna be miserable. Every class in EQ brings SOMETHING to the table, even rangers!

I think there are not many rogues. The Rangers are few in number 20 on at a time on a good day.

That's good to know. I just didn't want to roll a Enchanter or Rogue again if the server is saturated with such classes. Makes getting in a group a bit hard you know :)

Ya, it's been a long time but I can't wait to get playing again. Especially on a classic server. I stopped soon as Plains of Power came out. Just lost it's luster for me. That and DAoC was coming out and I'm a pvp'r lol what can I say :D

DAoC was out long before PoP arrived.

I agree with playing what you like, but only to a point. If there is a saturation of that class to the point of making it difficult to find groups, you will probably regret it, even if that is what you like playing.

I started as an enchanter, but after several disappointing evenings in the group finding department, I decided to start a druid alt. Sure, I could probably solo with the ench, but that's just it- I don't want to. So, I made the druid to have something to play when I get tired of waiting LFG (and with my patience, that happens fairly rapidly).

I will say that most of the calls I see for LFM are for tanks.

Indeed it did. I was playing both for a while. Hell I started out playing UO, and when this game came out I beta tested with a friend of mine. Thinking to myself how far games had come because it was in 3D lol. Times have changed :P

I reopened my account the other day and seen I had all of my chars still on there. I was actually shocked at Sony for keeping them around.

I thought I read some where that melee is pretty brutal on here. That creeps can actually hit you for full amounts rather then random several times in a row dang near instant killing you. That fixed or even a bug?

Welcome! If you've been out for as long as you said, then you'll be happy once you jump on the server. It's great being able to return to those favorite newbie hunting grounds and actually see people running around killing and being killed. I tried many times to return to EQ live and could never get past the fact that all of my favorite zones were empty. I envision spending a lot of my time on this server and know that you'll love it too.
