Pure melee class

Rolling a new character for Red99. Friend going to be a druid, other friend an enchanter. So I will have a good set of buffs. I will be playing a Pure melee class but I can't decide which one because I have no 45+ experience with them. The server will cap at level 50 to start so a lot of awesome kunark weapons wont be availible. We plan to level using primarily enchanter and/or druid charm, so I will be doing mostly damage.

My question: which is best for pvp high level when buffed out and rolling with a chanter/druid duo?

Rogue

I would be a barb, can barb rogues slam and run around a mob and backstab it? They got backstab, posions(not sure how good), invis.

Warrior

I would be a barb, again for slam on a pvp server. They got crits, magic resist bonus, highest hp, crippling blow.

Monk

They got flying kick, weight reduction limits, no need to buy or use weapons, mend, feign death, fists scale with level.

What should I play and why?

If you want to use charm, as your DPS and you are intent on being a pure melee class, you're a warrior or a monk. You WILL be tanking, because a charmed pet can't tank if you are in melee range. Monk is good because puller, warrior good due to better tank.

IMO though, go Necro or Mage. Better synergy with the 2 friends.

Well I play a rogue, but im a dwarf. Barb for slam would be really good for stuns and so,not sure if it would make a difference on hide and sneak as long as you train it up,also Druid/Rogue Duo is pretty nice because they can snare and fear and you can just backstab the crap out of it. Thats pretty much all i can say for rogues other than they do lots of damage. :P

Shit. Didn't realize that, no rogue then. I guess the monk or warrior could tank. We wanted to have melee over another caster because one of us could always be putting pressure on someone were attacking, sucks for all three of us to be out of mana, but I guess chanter will have clarity...Why is a mage or necro better synergy?

Because you don't need to spend mana healing on the druid. Can just bury a mob in pets and grief players in the same way. The druid can instead of spending mana healing a tank, DPS and save a reserve for pet breaks / PvP suprises. Druids are decent healers in full groups where mobs are dying decently fast and up til higher levels, around 40~ or so it drops off and you really need a backup healer or some other means of preventing damage if you don't want huge downtimes.

I don't think I would rely on charm for PVP. Cancel magic is pretty effective against you.

Slam and backstab are on the same timer.

So war vs monk? I was thinking I would hate to go monk and one day they release tripple attack for warrior.

Don't go monk if you don't have a high-end guild waiting when the server opens. There's practically no resist gear for monks if you can't get diamond jewelry and Tranix crown, and that stuff won't be affordable (or even for sale at all) for a loooong time. PvPing on a pure melee with 50MR is just not worth it. Monks aren't that good until Kunark anyway. Go warrior or hybrid.

btw charmed pet can tank just root it and stay further away then the pet is on it
