Was it classic to have your mana go to 0 if you cast a spell while thirsty?

I don't see anything there about meal size. Was there originally no benefit to purchasing Iron Rations over Rations?

Vache 04-07-2010 12:00 PM

There was no concept of meal size at all in classic. People bought muffins because they were cheap.

does the same apply to fuzzlecutter? have i been getting duped by that shitty little gnome?!!! i'll murder 'im!!!

grindle 04-07-2010 12:42 PM

As far as i have been able to tell there is no difference between Fizzle Cutter or Milk or water for that matter. Buy cheap and save the money 8-)

The real question is when does that change? Is it the moment that Kunark goes live?

This date will be sort of important to nail down so the population knows.

I seem to think it changed in Velious, when tradeskills started meaning more and they started adding all new recipes and stat-changing foods? I'll have to check eqtraders patch notes, see if they have some sort of archive.

ok here's what I was able to find:

There appears to have been two patches on 4/17/2001.

The first patch notes had this included:

Quote:

Food items now have a 'duration'. This means that some food items will not sustain a character as long as others, and some items will sustain your character longer than they did before.
The second patch on the same day included the following as well:

Quote:

Along with the other changes mentioned in the patch message, some player-made food items will now have an effect on your character beyond just keeping him from being hungry. We'll leave it up to you to discover the rest.

We've also added the ability to right-click food to 'force' your character to eat it. This will cause the food to be eaten immediately (though your character can only eat so much food at one time). Food eaten this way will only last half as long as food eaten naturally by the character.

right-click eat/drink wasn't added till later? Take it out then while you're doing the changes :). We can currently right-click eat/drink.
